Captain Norman Haddaway is a son of a, son of a, son of a…waterman…a unique breed of individuals who work the Bay for a living………..His ancestors have oystered, crabbed, fished and gunned the Chesapeake for almost three hundred years ….Capt. Norman has owned and operated Chesapeake Expeditions since 1977…His guiding skills and exploits have been featured or cited in numerous publications including Outdoor Life, Sports Afield, Field & Stream, and NRA American Hunter to name a few……..He is also referenced and pictured in Gunning for Sea Ducks (G. H. Gillean,Tidewater Publications, 1988).

Capt. Norman is a USCG–licensed captain and skippers a fully-equipped 32-footer …the "Sea Hunter" was custom-made for sea-ducking and sportfishing parties…it’s a world –class "Cast and Blast" battleship!

Capt. Norman is also a gourmet cook and a recognized expert on local Indian history…. He has built an impressive collection of local Indian artifacts (arrow heads, spear blades, cooking tools etc.) dating back thousands of years….and is a frequent speaker on Indian lore and artifacts at schools and local events.

Captain Ellsworth Haddaway also descends from a long-line of waterman and continues the family tradition ...his ancestors settled on Tilghman Island, Maryland, in the late 1600’s. He is the current reigning "Crab-Picking Champion" of Tilghman Island. Capt. "Ellie" is one of the premier goose callers in the country with a modified diaphragm tube call…he makes beautiful goose music with it!
